While Dahvi has been unabashedly singing in the shower for decades, her professional singing career began when she was an undergraduate student at Brown University. Singing with the Brown'sTones a capella group and "The Kickback Band," Dahvi had the chance to sing for Bill Clinton at the White House (nothing happened... she swears), record several CDs, and perform all over the East Coast. From these illustrious beginnings she went on to take part in numerous informal musical collaborations, including the ever-popular "Soul Kitty and the Sporatic Backhairs" and "OBGYN and the Simple Pleasures." Now a permanent resident of Teton Valley, Dahvi is excited to continue rocking the region, taking inspiration from such greats as Janice Joplin, Etta James, Jimi Hendrix, Patty Griffin, Ryan Adams, and more.

From a very young age, Abbott has loved music and always seen music as his way out of the world, if for only a moment at a time. Though many instruments have moved through his hands, only one really stuck - the hand drums. He started on snare and did the whole marching band/ band geek think for many years. Formally trained by Steve Channin, a modern jazz and orchestral musician, Abbott developed a strong foundation. At 13, he was introduced to Jaimoe (of the Allman Brothers) and was taught to listen, watch, understand, and then reproduce. When the Bros. went back on tour, Jaimoe introduced Abbott to Rob Sumowski, a very well known musician and teacher. Since then, Abbott has been playing professionally around the country. Sitting in with Steve Morse (Dixie Dreggs) and Glenn Phillips (solo guitar superman), his range includes jazz to rock to funk and blues.

Kent moved to the Tetons in 1990 and has since played with such local bands as "Crooked Teeth", "Willey Wirehand", and "The Roadies." He was also the original bassist for the country band "Rock Creek". In the mid-90's Kent played regionally with the "T-Tones," a band featuring 'Harmonica Madman' Lee Moran. His side projects include playing upright bass with "40-Story Shack", a 3-piece Bluegrass and Oldtime Contra Dance Band.

New to playing music in an organized band setting, LUNKuR is Paul's first go 'round playing electric in a live band setting. Paul began playing guitar originally in 5th grade, but he traded in his guitar for athletics until 1994, when he picked it back up as a student at University of Washington. After being absolutely blown away by the Grateful Dead in the Summer and Fall of 1993, Paul's musical life (and life in general for that matter) changed forever, and he began his quest to see as many live concerts as possible by “jam” bands like the Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic and many others. This musical pilgrimage only strengthened Paul’s passion for learning the guitar and his dream of one-day playing music for people to dance to and enjoy. Paul’s dream finally came true in 2006 when, teaming up with his best friend Ward Blanch, he began to hit open mike nights at the Knotty Pine in Teton Valley. As an acoustic duo, Paul and Ward became the original seed for LUNKuR. (Very fortunately, nothing from this era was ever recorded.) Through a friend, the two met drummer Bernie Unruh, and together, the three of them founded the LUNKuR. Paul is now realizing his dream of playing music live for everyone, young and old, to enjoy.

Arriving in Teton Valley via the witness protection and relocation program, Bob came to the area to make a fresh start, forge a new identity, and erase his past. With nothing but the present moment in his consciousness, he bought a used red Tama drum kit and began to play with numerous different musicians in numerous different bands. Bob has enjoyed all the people and music so far, and he is excited to be filling in for Bernie's broken hand with LUNKuR! Bob is a Pisces, he is right-handed, old enough to play in bars, and his favorite color is blue. |
